Mary Vondella Hansen Knight Hanley Thomas died in a Provo hospital April 17, 1977 of a cardiac arrest. She was born Oct. 22, 1904 in Fairview, Sanpete County to H. P. and Selm Nyberg Hansen. She married Joseph W. Knight, April 1922. They were later divorced. She married Earl Hanley in 1939. He died in 1964. She married John E. Thomas in December 1968. She was a graduate of Brigham Young University and taught school for 40 years in Fairview, Mt. Pleasant and Carbon County. After her retirement she lived in Phoenix, and more recently had moved to Provo. She was an active member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include her husband; one son and one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Bonnie) Madsen, Mt. Pleasant; Robert Knight, Fresno, Calif.; four stepsons, Sherman Thomas, Boyd Thomas and Jon Thomas, all of Salt Lake City; Don Thomas, Reno, Nev.; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister, Allan L. Thomas and Charles N. Hansen, both of Salt Lake City; John C. Hansen, San Jose, Calif.; Edward L. Hansen, Price and Mrs. George C. (Edith) Willardsen, Ephraim.
