Craig K. Smiley, 26, of 318 S. Fourth Ave., died April 17, 1987, at St. Mary Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Herring Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Robin Peterson will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children through the funeral home.

Smiley was born September 5, 1960, in Tacoma to L. Craig and Nyla Oelke Smiley. He attended Walla Walla schools and graduated in 1979 from Walla Walla High School.

After that, he worked for Tucker Farms until moving to Santa Monica, California, where he worked for Nakamichi Electronics. He lived in California for four years prior to returning to Walla Walla.

At the time of his death, he was working as a clerk and cashier at Grigg's Stateline Shopping Center.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Smiley is survived by his parents; a sister, Susan Smiley; and his grandparents, Chester L. and R. Fern Smiley and Arthur T. and Alma Irene Oelke, all of Walla Walla.
