While serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II and having two ships sinks out from under him, Dennis Ervin Larsen, 81, died in the Spring Creek Manor retirement center in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Born in Preston, the son of Ervin and Lorraine Peterson Larsen, he grew up and received his education there. Marrying Lucile Meek March 19, 1943 in Preston, the marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple July 17, 1963. Employed with Utah Power and Light for 31 years in Preston and Rexburg, they lived in St. Anthony. For fifteen years Dennis served as a St. Anthony Volunteer Firefighter. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and some golf.

His wife, Lucile; children: Dennis Ray Larsen and Bryant Meek Larsen; siblings, Ruby Calahan, Radia Camp, Thelma Price and Joyce Palmer; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. His parents, a brother, a sister and a daughter, Marsha, preceded Dennis in death.
