Lewis Flemister b. Essex Co., VA, 1746. Enlisted Feb 1777 serving in Wm. Moseley's Co. 7th VA Regiment; discharged Nov 3, 1783. After marrying Ellender Gillington Chism Feb27, 1790, in Halifax Co., VA they moved to a farm bought 2 1/2 miles from Tignall on the Danburg Rd. They had 6 children. He died Oct 1807 or 1808. DAR marker placed at his grave June 22, 1930. Mrs. Veone R. Johnson
