John T. McIver funeral service held Wednesday
Funeral services for John Thomas McIver, 86, who resided on Moreman Street just west of the city, were conducted Wednesday morning in Rose Chapel of Gilliland Funeral Home.
The Rev. Clifford Trotter, pastor of First United Methodist Church, conducted the rites. Burial was in West Park Cemetery.
Mr. McIver, resident of Deaf Smith County since 1943 when he came from Amarillo, died Monday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 18, 1885, at Sunset, and married Naomi Catherine Jenkins Dec. 1908, in Colorado City. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, James Calvin McIver, of Tampa, Fla., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
