Henry, named after a paternal uncle, was the eldest of two sons born to Tensard Robinson DeWolf and Mary "Polly" Bartholomew. His brother: Abiel Bartholomew.


His paternal grandparents Joseph DeWolf and Sarah Gibbons DeWolf are buried in this same cemetery as are his aunts Elizabeth DeWolf and Catherine DeWolf.
