He was the son of Mae Chalk Adams of Union and the late Jesse Willard Adams.
He was a member of the Elk's Lodge, a former employee of Carlisle Finishing Company and a veteran of the Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are three sisters, Janice A. Bain of Whitmire and Carolyn A. Linder and Jean A. Austin, both of Union.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Barry Ellis. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of his sister, Jean Austin, 151 Ben Black Road ,Union.
Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union.
