He is survived by his wife, Joyce Chafin, a daughter, Janet Chafin of Ocala, Fla., a son, James H. Chafin of Dora, a step-son, Ronald Wilcutt of Birmingham, a sister, Sarah Herchenhahn of Chalkville, a brother, Homer Chafin of Birmingham and two grandchildren, Brett and Reid Chafin, both of Adamsville.
