Emily Austin Bryan Perry was willed the DURANZO PLANTATION at Jones Creek by her brother STEPHEN F. AUSTIN. The Plantation was Originally a part of Stephen F. Austin's 1828 Mexican land grant. Her Plantation was willed to her Son: William Joel Bryan, who developed it into a cotton and sugar plantation. The land remained in the family until 1928.
