Luther J. Ball Services Are Held Monday

Funeral services for Luther James Ball, 80, of 400 West Seventh street were held at Cooper-Sorrells chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. C. N. Jones, the Rev. Mrs. Martha Hammack and the Rev. J. W. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in Fannin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ball, a retired minister of the Mulberry Assembly of God church, died in Seven Oaks Nursing Home at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 1973. He had been in ill health for several years and in the nursing home three weeks.

He was born Nov. 25, 1893, in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Ball, He married Miss Iona Cummings, Oct. 22, 1913, in Bonham.

Survivors are his wife of the home, four sons, Homer J., Leonard, James and Jack Ball, all of Bonham, two daughters, Mrs. Alice French of Bonham and Mrs. Janice Hall of Tishomingo, Okla., one brother, Ed Ball of Fort Worth, one sister, Mrs. Nellie Cogburn of McKinney, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. One son, Wesley, preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and minister of the Mulberry Assembly of God church of which he was a member.
