"Edwards, John. … Married (1) Mary Hanford, dau. of Rev. Thomas of Norwalk, … She was living 1705, dead 1723. Married (2) Mary _____, who d. 6 Mar. 1749 in 82 yr. (g. s., Stratfield)."
The Mary whose gravestone is in the Stratfield Cemetery was John Edwards' second wife; not the daughter of Rev. Thomas Hanford.
