William Thomas Ellison, 97, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth M. Blockson at Seattle Heights. Mr. Ellison was a veteran of the Civil war, and was a scout with William, (Buffalo Bill) Cody. Mr. Ellison, known as Corporal Billy; campaigned in the Black hills and with Buffalo Bill drove buffaloes into camp for food when rations were exhausted. Mr. Ellison was in Company D 18th Kansas regiment in the Civil war. He is survived by three sons, Eugene of Yakima, Charles of Ellensburg and Louis of South Tacoma; and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth M. Blockson, 23 granchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The body is at the Auseth funeral home from where funeral arrangements will be announced later.
