Jazz Musician. He extended the boundaries of jazz, much influensed by Swedish folk music, and met new audiences with a "Swedish sound" of jazz. He began playing at 11 and developed to one of the most distiguished jazz-pianists Sweden ever had. 1958-1960 he teamed with Stan Getz and other American musicians. He was the first European member of Jazz at the Philharmonic. His most remarked record was "Jazz på svenska" (Jazz in Swedish), where he combined jazz with traditional folk sound. He received several awards and also wrote the film music for Astrid Lindgren's "Pippi Långstrump" (Pippi Longstocking).
