Bobby G. Sanders, of Quapaw, Oklahoma, passed away at Higher Call Nursing Home in Quapaw at the age of 72.
He was born to Earl H. and Pearl (Sills) Sanders in the Sunnyside area east of Quapaw, Oklahoma. Bobby was valedictorian of the Quapaw High School Class of 1952. He graduated with honors from both Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1956. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he received a medical discharge. He was an accountant for John Cusack & Company in Joplin, Mo., and Burgraff Corp. in Quapaw, Okla., before starting his own firm, BGS Tax and Accounting Services in Joplin in 1979. Bob loved to travel, the theater, classical music and crossword puzzles.
Bobby is survived by one sister, Wanda Chambers and husband, Gerald of Vinson, Okla.
Four nephews, Larry Duree of Quapaw, Okla.
Rod Neal and wife Sharon of Miami, Okla.
Bruce Neal and wife Beverly of Owasso, Okla.
Jason Chambers and Wife Wanette of Granite, Okla.
Five nieces:
Linda Mason of Tulsa, Okla.
Sandi McElehaney and husband Larry of Wyandotte, Okla.
Terri Sue Truelove and husband Jerry "Burf" of Houston, Tx.
Kathy Kress and husband Erick of Baxter Springs, Ks.
Pam Cook and husband Mark of Elk City, Okla.
24 great-nieces and nephews, and 11 great-great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Betty Duree.
