John L Brady married Mrs. Edna Van Slack. The couple divorced in 1916 in Young County, Texas. Mrs. Brady had the care of their daughter Elizabeth Brady. Their daughter was married by 1920 and living with her mother in Haskell, Texas.

John L. Brady married Mrs. Alice V. Oliphant on 14 March 1917. She was divorced at the time of their marriage.

The many friends of J.L. Brady were pained to learn of his death at the Graham hospital following a serious operation. Graveside services were officiated by Rev. B.A. Roark. Mr. Brady went to Proffitt to visit relatives when he was taken ill, he returned to his home near Bunger, but then went to the Graham hospital where it was decided he needed an operation.

John Brady had been in Young County since 1905. Early in life, Mr. Brady was converted and united with the Baptist Chruch. He was a quiet, unassuming man and lived a consistent Christian life. After the death of his first wife, he married Mrs. Gathings several years ago. Survived by his wife and one son - Johnny Brady.

John Brady was the City Marshall at Graham which is today known as the Chief of Police in 1917. He resigned his position in 1918 and returned to farming.
