|Born: Firth, Yorkshire, England, October 13, 1842. He was a stone cutter. He came to America in 1859. He then went to St. Louis where he lived "about twenty years". He enlisted in Company I, 1st MO militia, Infantry on December 20, 1861. He was honorably discharged on May 15, 1865. |
On June 17, 1872, he married Sophia Cramer in St. Louis.
He then "came to Colorado, May 17, 1879, and located in Denver, where he took contracts in all branches of stone work, especially flagging."
Mr. Barker owned a residence at the corner of First and Grant Avenues, Denver, which he built.
