Sarah Black was born Oct. 23, 1908 in Miami County. She was the daughter of Howard and Anna (Gleason) Hinkle.
She had lived in Miami and Wabash counties all her life and was a cook at the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth "Bud" Black; a brother, Fred Hinkle; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Day and Mrs. Helen Rinehart; and three grandchildren.
