RUSSELL - Bertha Louise Anderson, 94, died Dec. 16 at Russell Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 9, 1910, at Oakley, the daughter of Fred L. and Lydia (Kast)
Ebel. She moved with her family to the Russell area when young and received her
basic education in area schools. She married Tom B. Anderson at Great Bend on
Dec. 20, 1927. He died Dec. 1, 1961. She lived her entire adult life in the
Russell community. She and her husband farmed in Fairfield Township, Russell
County, for many
years. After his death she moved to Russell to make her home. For 17 years she
assisted her daughter, Mary Miller, as a cook at the Log Cabin Inn in Russell.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Pfannenstiel of Russell, six
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Miller, a grandson, Steven Karst, three
brothers, Bill, Leo and Ted Ebel, and a sister, Katherine Franzmathes.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.. Saturday at Pohlman-Heise Memorial Chapel,
Russell, with the Rev. Henry J. Hartman officiating. Interment will be at Cross
Plains Cemetery, southeast of Russell. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m.
today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, Russell. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.
