Irene Wilson Hunsaker was born July 30, 1918, outside Sebree in Webster County, Kentucky, the first of two daughters born to Charles Milton and Callie Legatt Wilson.
She attended business school in Evansville, Indiana, where she met her future husband, Harold James Hunsaker.
They married April 9, 1938, and came to Texas three years later. Harold died in 1993.
They were active, longtime members of First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie. They moved to Lake Dallas in 1962 and returned to Grand Prairie in 1968. For many years they enjoyed a second home outside Eagle Nest, N.M., and their many friendships there. Irene served as worship coordinator for Idlewild Community Center for many years. She worked in many areas of the church, both in Lake Dallas and Grand Prairie, as well as doing Braille transcription for a time.
Survivors: Sister, Catherine Revlett and husband, Charles; sons and their wives, Doug and Dru Hunsaker, Alan and Jo Hunsaker and Paul and Jackie Hunsaker; daughter, Wanda Russell; grandchildren and their families, Amy Russell, Heather Hunsaker Roeder, husband, Craig, and daughters, Haley and Cameron, Reba Russell Reid, husband, Nick, and daughters, Rylie and Brynna, Holly Hunsaker Andruk, husband, Dean, and son, Dominic, Tiffany Hunsaker and daughter, Taylor, and Luke Hunsaker; one niece; three nephews; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.
