Shirley Temple Withrow, 60, of Butler, died Oct. 6, 2005, at St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas. Born Oct. 16, 1944, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie Marie Justice Thurman. She worked as a nurseโ€™s aide at Owenton Manor and was a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by four daughters, Clara Shirley Blaine of Crittenden, Bonnie Lou Withrow of Falmouth, Patricia Ann Simpson of Falmouth and Janetta Blevins of Owenton; two sons, Nathan Eugene Oaks of Falmouth and Dewey Oaks Jr. of LaGrange; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Thomas Thurman of Falmouth; and three sisters, Linda Lou Messer of Owen County, Carolyn Hurst of Grant County and Evelyn Thurman of Dry Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carol Eugene Oaks.

Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Bros. David Wotier and Joe Hall officiating. Pallbearers were Robert Messer, James Messer, Jeff Duncan, Ronnie Neuspickle, Robert Neuspickle and Nathan Oaks. Honorary pallbearers were Dougie Caldwell, Daniel Neuspickle, Jeff Simpson, Gaylord Blevins, Bobby Jo Messer and Rebecca Houp. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Pendleton County.
