Born in Little Compton, RI, she was daughter of the late Francisco J. and Maria J. (Arruda) Medeiros. Mrs. Kirby was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. She was a recipient of the Marian Medal and was an honorary member of the St. John the Baptist Womens Guild.
Survivors include three sons: Robert E. Kirby of Westport, Allen J. Kirby of Taunton and Leonard R. Kirby of Tiverton, RI; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Manuel Medeiros, John Medeiros, Antone Medeiros, Joseph Medeiros, Melinda Piva, Mary Botelho, Gladys Gonsalves, Jennie Mello, Edna Hurley and Emily Bragga.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, June 10, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
