Martha E. Glaser

Martha E. Glaser, 73, of Bethany Home Apartments, formerly of 2770 Brunswick St. died Friday Jan. 5, 2001 at Bethany Home.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Third Presbyterian Church, with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview. Friends may also call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Glaser was a teacher in Galena, Ill. and at Dubuque Senior High School for more than 30 years retiring in 1985.

She was born on July 26, 1927 in Galena, Ill., daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Callahan) Brendel. She married John Glaser on Aug. 4, 1951 in Galena, Ill.

She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church since 1951. She was a member and officer of AARP.

Surviving are her husband, John Glaser of Dubuque, a sister-in-law, Rosemary (McCarron) Glaser, of West Lawn, Pa., a nephew Andy Glaser, a niece Cindy (Mike) Kuhne, and cousins Joan (Don) Vanden Noven of Beloit, Wis., Bil (Judy) Wise of Chaska, Minn., and Doug (Sheila) Gukeisen, Gary (Ellen) Gukeisen, Janice (Patrick) McCormick, Penny (Dale) Baumhover, and Marie Gukeisen, all of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law Robert Glaser.
