The Rev./or Pastor Joseph Perry Lee was born 27 May 1820 in Union District, Union, South Carolina to James & Sarah Jackson Lee. He died Jun 1900 in Columbus. He ranged about Pickens, Tuscaloosa and Lowndes Counties preaching the word of God and performing numerous weddings, including for his own family members. A part of his Lee family is buried in the Upper Pickensville Cemetery--brothers John Jackson and Amos James Lee and their wives, as are John Jackson's children.
