Son of James Claypool, Sr. and Jane (?Byrd?) Claypool. Brother of William Claypool, James Claypool, John Claypool ,Sr., Joseph Claypool, Mary Claypool Denton, Elizabeth Claypool Osborn, Sarah Claypool and Jesse Claypool.
An illegible headstone is next to his brother John. According to records at the courthouse in Moorefield, the county seat, and it states that George Claypool is buried in the same cemetery. Since a headstone for George can't be found this is likely him. His dates per the courthouse are b. March 31, 1741 and d. Sept. 24, 1829.
George is a 5th great-granduncle of mine.
