UXBRIDGE Constance I. (Preston) Burnat, 90, a life long resident of Park St., died Wed. evening, April 8, 2009 in the St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville.
She was the wife of the late Frank J. Burnat who died in 1964.
Mrs. Burnat was employed for the late Leo F. Kenney, former State Representative. She had been a Nurses Aide in the maternity ward of Woonsocket Hospital and a waitress at the former White Cottage Restaurant in Uxbridge. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School.
She was born March 21, 1919 in Worcester, the daughter of the late Leslie A. and Evelyn (Aubin) Preston Sr.
Mrs. Burnat was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and loved her late dog "Chico".
She is survived by one son, Michael and his wife Lillian Burnat, of Uxbridge; a daughter, Michele Burnat Jones of Whitinsville; 5 grandchildren: Rachel Barr of Bedford, Michael A. Burnat of Virginia, Rebecca Oliver of E. Douglas, Robert C. Jones of Whitinsville and David M. Jones of Hubbardston; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her close friend and companion, Joanne Brodeur of Uxbridge. She was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Preston Jr.; a sister, Phyllis Preston; a nephew, Robert Preston; and one grandson, Frank J. Jones.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 2 PM in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon St. (Rt. 16), Uxbridge. Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 North Main St. (Rte. 122), Uxbridge, MA 01569 prior to the graveside service.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
