James Faulkner was born in Trimble, Tenn., and had lived in Trumann, Ark., since 1917. He was a retired Millwright and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Agnes Faulkner who died on August 24, 1980. His first Marriage was to Pearl, last name unknown. They had a son, James.
Jim married my Grandmother Mary later in life. They always grew a garden of wonderful fruits and vegetables. He loved to hunt coon and went cat fishing weekly. He had a dog named "Tippy," that was always close by his side. They lived a tranquil life and loved their family and neighbors. When visiting them as a child and as an adult as well, I always was aware of the close knit bond they had with all their neighbors that lived on their street, named "Smith Street" they truly loved their neighbors and their neighbors loved them. They were fun to be around; telling stories of long ago. Always making wonderful dinners. I never would think of trying coon, but did enjoy the cat fish and fried okra they prepared.
There was a huge cotton mill there. And also Singer Manufacturing Company it was a wonderful experience to tour. This was how most of the people of Trumann made a living. The people of Trumann knew what time it was by the whistle's sounding throughout the day at the mill. Late at night while in bed I loved to hear the sound of the train off in the distance with it lonely whistle sound.
They were wonderful people and so were their neighbors. I love and miss them very much, until we meet again, rest in God's peace. Olivia
