John Thomas Adams


John Thomas Adams, 75, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at his home. He was a native of Shelbyville, Tennessee and a painter.

He is the son of Jim Adams and Ethel Hibton. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn McElhaney Adams, daughters, Deborah D. Thompson and Sherry Holder of Shelbyville, Tennessee and son, Melvin Adams of Shelbyville, Tennessee. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by a son, Thomas Randy Adams and 2 brothers, Jewel Adams and Junior Adams.

Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday, February 7-8, 2005 from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. with funeral service Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Gowen-Smith Chapel. Burial will be at Willow Mount Cemetery.
