(From Shamokin Times) COAL TOWNSHIP Robert "Robbie" "Tads" L. Kozar, 47, of Box 887, Coal Township RD 2, died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 9, at his residence as a result of an accident.
Born in Shamokin on Dec. 15, 1956, he was a son of the late Robert D. and Joan T. (Grazul) Kozar. He was a lifelong resident of Coal Run.
Mr. Kozar owned and operated KBF Trucking of Coal Township.
On Aug. 15, 1990, in St. Anthony Church, Ranshaw, he was married to the former Cindy Burns, who survives.
He graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1974.
Mr. Kozar was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Coal Township and Brady Fire Company.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Kristen, and a son, Robbie, both at home; a sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Frank Mostik Jr. of Coal Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Major Michael P. and Marion Kozar, U.S. Army, San Antonio, Texas; four nieces, Stephanie Lubeskie, Nicole Mostik, Loren Kozar and Cheryl Etzel; three nephews, Frank Mostik III, Michael Kozar and Kenny Etzel; a great-niece, Carly Lubeskie, and a great-nephew, Bryce Adams. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene, in infancy.
Robert L. Kozar, of Box 887, Coal Township RD 2. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township, with the Rev. Lawrence Gross officiating. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday, with a Christian vigil service at 8 p.m. Wednesday, in Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, Leonard J. Lucas, supervisor.
