Funeral Services for James O. "Joe" Etier, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Skip Dean officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. in Lone Cherry Cemetery, Mangham.

Mr. Etier was born to Will and Emma Etier on June 23, 1930 and went to his eternal heavenly home on May 11, 2014. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from T.L. James Construction Company and also did Insurance Appraisals for bankruptcy attorneys. Joe enjoyed being involved in the Dixie Youth and Dixie Boys Baseball Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Emma Etier; son, Randy Etier; brothers, Herbert, Waymon, Frank and George Etier; and sisters, Margie Poole, Nellie Ledbetter, Effie Zeagler, and Betty Sue Etier.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. June Etier; son, Darrell Etier of Gulf Breeze, Florida; daughter-in-law and Son-in-law, Lori and Butch Savoie; brother, Carey Etier; sister, Annie Eaves; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Crystal, Ryan, Emily, Brad, Ashley, and Taylor; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rick Greer, Rick Barnes, Bob Anderson, Herchel MaGee, Jimmy Craighead, Butch Savoie, Ryan Etier, and Brad Etier. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Mens Adult II Sunday School class at Highland Baptist Church.
