Funeral services for Aleene Commander Gray, 88, of Nacogdoches, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Dr. Allen Reed of First Baptist Church and Judith Davis of Rock Springs Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Old North Church Cemetery.

Gray died July 2, 2004 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Born September 3, 1915, in Nacogdoches, she was the daughter of Henry Hollis Commander and Ura Price Commander. She was a teacher and a member of First Baptist Church, the Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Pythian Sisters, Nacogdoches Genealogy Society and the Ladies Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, John Patrick Gray and James P. Gray of Nacogdoches; daughter Judith Aleene Davis of Sacramento, California; 5 grandsons; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to The Ladies Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, 411 North Street or the Nacogdoches Humane Society, 507 E. Hospital Street.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday.
