Lance Cpl. Ryan S. McCurdy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana attended Christian Life Academy and graduated in 2004. He was happy-go-lucky and you never saw him angry unless it was about a ballgame; he was passionate about sports. He was a second-team all-district catcher in baseball, played center on the football team and also was on the soccer team. Ryan was a member of the 2002 LHSAA Class 2A state championship baseball team. He was center for the football team and played on the soccer team and was a member of Christian Life Church. He is survived by his mother, Jan McCurdy; father, Stan McCurdy; brother, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Grant McCurdy; maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Clifford Hanson of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Virginia McCurdy; great-grandparents, Anna and Samuel Green; and great-grandmother, Bertha Hanson and her husband, Aven Hanson. His older brother, Marine Lance Cpl. Grant McCurdy, is stationed in California. He was 20.
