Ada N. Lard, 94, of Benton Harbor died Saturday, September, 19, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Services celebrating her life will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, Benton Harbor. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Ada was born on November, 30, 1914 in Savannah, Tenn., to Homer and Dora Blagburn. She married her husband, Marshall Lard, Jan. 16, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1987. She worked at the American Laundry and then at Williams Box Factory, retiring in 1977. Her hobby was reading, and she loved to take walks. Ada was an excellent cook and was able to cook just about everything.

She is survived by her two children, Onna Adkins of Benton Harbor and Larry Lard I, of Elkhart, Ind. Her sister, Marie McCaslin of Niles; her brother Bonnie Blagburn of Caruthersville, Mo.; her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dalton and Robert Blagburn.
