Arthur Allen MOORE Jr. was born on 31 July 1919 to Arthur Allen MOORE Sr. & Anna Florence WRIGHT MOORE. He spent most of his young years in Muskogee & Checotah, Oklahoma. He spent two years (April 1938 to March1940) in the Civilian Conservation Corp near Grand Junction, Colorado (Company 2894, SCS 12C). He arrived in Bakersfield on April 25, 1940.

He worked for his father in his father's butcher shops located in three markets. (Spic-N-Span Market, 2425 Alta Vista Drive; Kern Ranch Market #1 - 1131 Flower Street; and Mitchel's Market at 610 Union Avenue.) In September 1941, after the death his father, he took a job at Stony Brook Retreat - Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Keene, California. Within a few months he became a patient after contracting tuberculosis himself. It was here he met Constance BRYANT (his wife) who was also a patient. They had been discharged from Stony Brook by January 1943. They were married in the Taft, California, Church of the Nazarene on April 18, 1943. They were very loyal church members at the First Church of the Nazarene in Bakersfield, California for their whole lives. One week later he left for the United States Army. His time in the Army was brief (April 23, 1943 to August 20, 1943). He was Honorably Discharged after finding that his eye sight was too poor to continue.

Because of his eye condition, he never drove a car. He started work at Richfield Oil Corporation on Monday, October 25, 1943 and worked in that position as head clerk in the Production Department until 1959 when he was declared legally blind due to retinitis pigmentosa. RP is a genetic disorder of the eyes that causes loss of vision and blindness. He did not work until this time until his death in 1994. He was an intelligent man with a sharp mind that had a great ability to recall dates, names and events always to the amazement and delight of his family.

At the time of his death he is survived by his wife, Constance Aline BRYANT MOORE; his son Arthur "Art" Allen MOORE III of Kennewick WA; his daughter Norma Louis MOORE UNFRIED of Bakersfield; and five grandchildren. A. A. Moore, Jr. was baptized at the Taft, California Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, November 2, 1947 .
