NORMA JEAN (SCOTT) ANDERSON "Mimi" Gary, Indiana Please note change in date and location of funeral service. Age 80, passed away December 19, 2005, at Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus, after a long illness. She was a faithful member of First AME Church for 62 years and a dedicated member of the Rebecca Missionary Circle. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1943, and on the class reunion steering committee. She was a mother extraordinaire and exceptional homemaker. She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Scott, Sr.; dearly beloved husband, Monroe Anderson, Jr.; youngest son, Dariek L. Anderson; and brother, Samuel Scott, Jr. She is survived by a son, Chicago journalist, Monroe (Joyce Owens) Anderson, III; a devoted daughter, Elizabeth J. (Anderson) Hollins; a sister, Marian Elmore; and a sister-in-law, Christine Scott, and 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and scores of friends. Visitation and funeral services Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the First A.M.E. Church, 2001 Massachusetts St., Gary, Rev. Lewis Grady, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
