The daughter of Gyle and Dora Stanwood, she was born July 20, 1918 in Russellville. She was a member of the South New Hope Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband ,Louie Carothers; a daughter, Geraldine Jones; one brother, Robert Barefield; one sister, Ruby Stanwood.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Carothers and wife Edna of Russellville, Paul Carothers and wife Shirley of Russellville, Benny Carothers and wife Joannie of Owasso, Oklahoma; two daughters, Judy Webb and husband Wayne of Russellville, Shirley Blue and husband Jim of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Her funeral was held Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Humphrey Chapel.
Burial was in THE OPEN BIBLE SECTION in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
