My Poppy was the greatest man who lived. I have so many fond memories of him. When I was a little girl, I looked up to him so much that I wanted to marry him when I got older. My Grammy would always say "Oh! You can't marry your Poppy!" or "Your Poppy is no saint you know!" To me, he was an earthly angel who had a heart of gold. One of the last things he said to me a month before he died was "Kimmy, I will never hurt you, but one day I am going to hurt you. I am going to hurt you when I die." I replay that in my head over and over again...he was absolutely correct...he never did hurt me (other than when he died). I am so proud to be his granddaughter.
My Poppy was funny, he tried to seem like a tough guy (but I knew better), he was quick with come backs. He liked nature. He loved dogs. He loved me.
Poppy, I miss you like crazy and I always will.
