Era Caskey Sanderlin

Funeral services for Mrs. Era Caskey Sanderlin will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Southside Baptist Church in Jonesboro, LA at 10a.m., with Bro. Wesley Venable and Bro. Richard Shreve officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Friendship, LA.

Mrs. Sanderlin was born on August 17, 1917 and passed away on July 6, 2013. She was 95.

She is survived by three sons, Norwood Willis Sanderlin of Bossier City, LA, Randy Scott Sanderlin of Shreveport, LA and Ted Wayne Sanderlin and wife Cherry Lynn of Eros, LA, two brothers, Willie Jerry Caskey of Jonesboro, LA and John Langford Caskey of Shreveport, LA, one grandson, Mathew Kyle Sanderlin and two great-grandchildren, Brycen Ford Sanderlin and Madilyn Grace Sanderlin.

Mrs. Sanderlin was loved and cherished by her family, she was our matriarch. She cared most about her family and to the end this was her main concern that we would be ok without her. Mother was an energetic and sweet lady, always with a cheery disposition and would make the best of whatever situation fate had placed her in. She had a unique ability to make friends in a room full of strangers. If she knew you, she was your friend. She enjoyed visiting with friends, square dancing, lunch and bingo at the Senior Citizens Center in Jonesboro. Her faith and her church of nearly 60 years, Southside Baptist in Jonesboro, provided her with an unwavering guide through life, especially in difficult times. She is greatly loved by her family and her loss leaves an irreplaceable hole in our hearts. Our dear Mother is gone, but we will treasure her indomitable spirit and simple life wisdoms she taught us through the years.

Pallbearers will be, Tommy Harper, Kyle Sanderlin, Emmett Blundell, Edward Clark Caskey, Kerry Sanderlin and Danny Folden.
