In 1933, Frank Bear (American Indian man, born Arizona, Navajo Tribe), was transferred from the Hiawatha Indian Asylum, in Canton, Lincoln County, South Dakota, to Saint Elizabeth's Hospital, in Washington, D.C. He died at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital on January 16, 1938, and was laid to rest in Saint Elizabeth's Cemetery, Section 15, Row 3, Grave 321.
