Funeral services for Mrs. E. C. Button, 83, of Waterloo, former Nevada resident, who passed away Thursday, June 30, in Waterloo, were held Saturday afternoon at the Central Presbyterian church in Nevada with Rev. James D. Ransom of Nevada and Dr. H. E. Dierenfield of the First Presbyterian church in Waterloo, officiating at the last rites.

Mrs. R. J. Dillin was at the organ playing a number of appropriate hymns. The many beautiful floral pieces were arranged by Mrs. H. P. Albery and Mrs. Vivian Riddlesbarger.

The casket bearers were R. A. Davis, F. C. Tarman, H. M. Vinsel, Chas. F. Wilson, Harold Tipton and Fred Younker.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband, the late E. C. Button, long time Nevada merchant, who passed away in Nevada in 1937.

The following brief life story was read at the funeral service:

Martha McCaw, daughter of John and Ann McCaw, was born December 19, 1866, in Rochester, New York. When she was 14 the family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where she was graduated from the high school.

On August 20, 1902, she was united in marriage with Elton C. Button [should be Elon C. Button,] To this union was born one daughter, Helen. Mrs. Button came to Nevada as a bride and spent all of her married life here. Mr. Button passed away in 1937. Mrs. Button passed away June 30, 1949, at the home of her daughter in Waterloo.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church, Eastern Star, P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Sorosis club.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen, and by many friends who remember her faithfulness and friendliness.
