Mrs. Hazelean Cornelius Brawley 100, of Willow Rd. passed away Thursday March 30, 2017 at her residence born November 16, 1916 in Rowan Co., she was the daughter of the late James Cornelius and Hassie Beatty Cornelius.
Mrs. Brawley was educated in the public schools of Rowan Co., and was a retired housewife and reared many children in her home. A member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church in Concord where she was the Mother of the church and the oldest member and also served on the senior choir, and the womens association.
Dhe was preceeded in death by her husband, Curlee Brawley, Sr. sons, James Edward Brawley, Ray Brawley, Sr., Richard Lee Brawley, Roosevelt Brawlley, sisters, Vera Cornelius, Vaggie Holt, Idella Miller, Geneva Graham, Rosetta Scott, Jessie Cornelius, Frances C. Bailey, Viola McHenry, brothers, Rodney Cornelius, Kenneth Cornelius, Rev. Frank Cornelius, John B. Cornelius.
She leaves precious and loving memories to her children; Charles Pinkston, Kannapolis, Shirley Lipscomb, Salisbury, Grace Brawley, Waterbury, Ct., Curlee (Jennie) Brawley, Jr., Salisbury, Sylinder Brawley of the home, Cleo(Pearl) Brawley, Cleveland, Brenda(Clement) Sherrill, Landis, Wanda Brawley of the home, daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Brawley, Salisbury, twenty four grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
