Carolyn J. Caroland, of Madison, passed away suddenly Friday, October 4, 2013 at Skyline Medical Center and went home to be with the Lord. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Bob Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 4-8pm and again Monday morning until the time of service.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 58 years, Thomas M. Caroland; sons, Ross (Shelia) Caroland of Mt. Juliet and Rex Caroland of Hendersonville; brother, Roy Shepherd of Greenbrier; sisters, Erline Ellis of Springfield and Elizabeth Parrish of Madison; and grandson, Brian Caroland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Minnie Shepherd, her brother, Herschel Shepherd and her sister, Lillian Burchett.
