Shirley Mae Conlin, 83, of Marquette Heights, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2014) at her daughter's residence surrounded by family.

She was born July 5, 1930 in Highland Park to Samuel J. and Agnes M. Sullivan Lane. She married Charles E. Conlin on Dec. 25, 1953 in Bloomington. He died Nov. 21, 2006 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Charles E. "Chuck" Conlin Jr. on Oct. 13, 2003 in Sycamore.

Surviving are four children, Marlene (Ernie) Simmons, Dan Conlin, Sue (Tom) Bagby and Tom (Robin) Conlin; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Patricia (Ken) Conlin and Marlene Faulk and two brothers, Samuel J. (Bev) Lane Jr. and John W. (Terri) Lane.

She worked as a phone operator out of high school in Highland Park and worked at Rosewood Lanes in North Pekin. She also was a longtime waitress at Xanos' Restaurant in Pekin.
