WOOD RIVER — Claire "Joyce" Niemack, 76, of Shelton died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society in Wood River.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelton with the Rev. Bryan Gies officiating. Burial will be at Shelton Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Sept. 8, 1937, in Hedrick, Iowa, to Clare and Bertha (Cox) Coleman.
On June 19, 1960, she married Loren Niemack in Shelton.
Survivors include her husband; daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Randy Rech of Falls City and Michelle Choplin of Shelton; grandchildren, Kent Stejskal of Lincoln and Makayla and Madison Choplin of Shelton; stepgrandchildren, Branden and Cassie Rech of Ashland and Amber Rech of Kansas City, Mo.; stepgreat-grandchildren, Halle and Kenna Rech of Ashland; sister, Judi Carpenter of North Platte; and many other close relatives and friends.
She grew up in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School. She graduated from Kearney State College and taught rural school.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet Pember Kruger; niece, Carol Niemack; grandniece, Celeste Webben; and brothers-in-law, Rodney Niemack, Larry Niemack and Darrell Carpenter.
