LAKE CITY -- Funeral services for William Richard Fry, 77, of Lake City, who died Monday, Aug. 8, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.


The Rev. Steve Crawford and the Rev. Junior Friend will officiate, and burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.


Active pallbearers will be Gerald Eaker, Gary Metz, Johnny McClung, Delbert Timms, Maxie Jones and Richard Varner.


Honorary pallbearers include his grandchildren, as well as Warren Short, Ezra Metz, Julius Hutcheson, Coleman Holloway, Fred Farmer, Dr. Dennis Parten and Dr. Jeffery Cohen.


Fry lived in the Lake City and Black Oak areas throughout his life. He was retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and was a member of Lake City First Assembly of God.


Survivors include his wife, Lula Fry of the home; a son, Mike Fry of Jonesboro; two daughters, Linda "Wendy" Carner of Lake City and Judy Speakes of Marmaduke; a brother, Clarence Fry of Saffell; 10 grandchildren, Justin Fry, Cody Fry, Cindy Terrell, LeAnn Mansfield, Jon Carner, Josh Carner, Misty Secrease, Jeremy Speakes and Tim Speakes; and five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Flora Fry, and a brother.
