Jo Ann Atkinson, age 75, of Lufkin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 8, 2014. Born in Round Rock, Texas, on May 10th, 1938 to the late Mildred and Virgil Daily.

Jo Ann was an avid bowler for many years with a high game of 278. She loved to sewing and tending her garden and flowers. She also had an affinity for dancing to the great music of the 50's and 60's.

She is survived by her loving husband Fred Atkinson of 48 years, two sons Rory Lawrence of Colorado Springs, Corey Atkinson and his wife Liza of Montgomery, Texas along with two grandsons, Sister Katherine Brown of Houston, cousin Jerry Miles and his wife Arlene of Georgetown, nieces Sheree Higby, Shelle Wood and Shana Jo Miller, nephew Jimmy Hoffman and many great nieces and nephews who affectionately all called her Aunt Jo, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mildred Daily and brother David Daily.

The family will have a private burial in Round Rock, Texas where she will be laid to rest with her mother and father.
