Surviving are three children, Theresa "Teri" L. Markley and husband Jim , Sheryl "Sheri" Taylor and Charles "Chuck" Waters, all of Grafton; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard L. DeMoss of Clarksburg, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Haddix; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Booth and AddaBelle June Markley; and one sister, Vickie Kay DeMoss.
Peggy was formerly employed at Grafton City Hospital where she was a nurses' aide and ward clerk until she opened her own residential care home, which she operated from 1980 to 1990. She then opened the Alliance Personal Care Home on US Rt. 119 North of Grafton which she operated until 2006 during which time the name was changed to Connley Manor and which is now known as Home Away from Home.
Peggy enjoyed her family, loved NASCAR, her horses, and camping. She was affiliated with the New Hope Four Square Church in Fairmont.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Thrower officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
