HOWELL TOWNSHIP -- A 12-year-old Ocean Township girl was killed in an auto accident on Rt. 33 yesterday, which also left a 22-year-old Ocean Township woman in critical condition. Police identified the dead victim as Cassandra Ennis of 29 Woodrow St. The car was driven by Penny Wolcott of the same address. Miss Wolcott was reported in critical condition at Freehold Area Hospital early today. Police said that Miss Wolcott was driving west on Rt. 33 when she attempted to pass a dump truck in front of her by using the shoulder of the road. The truck made a right hand turn into a private driveway, crashing into the Wolcott car, police said. The Farmingdale First Aid Squad transported both injured to Freehold Area Hospital. The child was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m. No charges have been filed. The officers investigating the accident are Patrolmen Donald McGirr and Oliver Boucher.
