Mrs. Ethel M. Barnett, 67, of 15 Rock Hill Court died this morning at 5:30 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Alton, where she had been admitted about 9 o'clock Wednesday night.
Mrs. Barnett had been employed the past two years in the safety deposit department of the Edwardsville National Bank & Trust Co. A lifelong Edwardsville resident, she was born Nov. 7, 1896 at Virden, and was married to Edward I. Barnett in December, 1919 at Granite City. Mr. Barnett died in June, 1951.
Survivors are a son, Edward R. of Western Springs, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin O. (Betty Ann) Christmann of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Edith Synder, Chicago; and five grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and Edwardsville Chapter 667, Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Saturday from the Lesley Marks funeral home. The Rev. Walter J. Mehl, Presbyterian church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Garden of Memory. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
