Bob died Tuesday August 3, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, Davenport, following a brief illness and courageous battle with cancer.
Robert Louis Hendricksen was born July 14, 1936, in Davenport, a son of Ralph Fredrick and Cleo Genevieve (Sanders) Hendricksen.
Bob was united in marriage to Lavina E. Smith on September 10, 1960, in Davenport. They were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in September.
Bob was a retired city employee. He had worked for the Street Department for the City of Davenport, retiring in 2007 after many years of service.
He was an avid outdoorsman and always enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include his wife, Lavina; sons, Robert Hendricksen, Todd Hendricksen, and Brian Hendricksen, all of Davenport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Selma Hileman, Marjorie (Jack) Sampica, Brenda Flowers, all of Davenport, and Ruth (Leonard) Fischer, of Maine; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Debbie) Hendricksen, Davenport, and Rick (Barb) Hendricksen, Rock Island; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
