Jean Rosalee McAboy Rose

Jean R. Rose, age 88, Alba, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 7, 1925 in Webb City, Mo. to Roy and Dot McAboy.

Jean was a lifetime Alba, Mo. resident.

She was a co-founder of Bill Rose Pump Service. She was also employed for 19 years with Tri State Motor Transit as an executive secretary.

Jean graduated from Webb City High School and attended Joplin Business School.

She was a member of the Alba Christian Church.

She married Bill Rose on March 27, 1948 in Joplin, Mo., and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1985.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Russell McAboy and Loren McAboy.

Jean is survived by two sons, Kevin Rose and wife Cheryl, Jasper, Mo., Mark Rose, Alba, Mo.; one daughter, Nancy Hoffmann and husband John, Joplin, Mo.; four grandchildren, Regan and Rachelle Rose, Lauren and Christian Hoffmann and one step grandson Vincent Estes.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2013 at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home with Roger Hasselquist officiating.

Private family burial will be at a later date.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tammy Jeffers and Donna Ritcheson for the wonderful care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Hope 4 You Breast Cancer foundation in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home & Crematory.
